If you plan to extend your stay in India after
the Workshop or are travelling within the country, currency regulation
in India require all foreign nationals and non-resident Indians
to pay for their hotel and travel expenses in Foreign Currency
Cash, travelers cheques or major credit cards, such as Master,
Visa which are accepted at most places. It is recommended that
delegates purchase some Indian Rupees before check-in at their
                hotel.
As is standard in Indian English, large values of Indian rupees
are counted in terms of thousands, lakh (100 thousand = 105 rupees,
in digits 1,00,000), crore (100 lakhs = 107 rupees, in digits
1,00,00,000). The use of million or billion, as is standard in
American or British English, is far less common. |
